Cost and quotes

How much does stucco repair cost in San Diego?

Small crack fills run $200-$600. Patch repairs covering a few square feet run $400-$1,200. Full re-stucco on a 1,500-square-foot exterior runs $8,000-$18,000 depending on coat count and prep. The in-home assessment sets the written price.

Is the in-home assessment really free?

Yes. A crew walks your exterior, probes the problem areas, and hands you a written scope and price with no obligation and no trip fee for your zip.

Can I repair just one section of stucco?

Yes. Section repairs, single crack fills, and targeted patch jobs are common. You do not need to re-stucco the whole exterior to fix a localized problem.

Stucco repair and materials

What is the difference between a crack repair and a re-stucco?

A crack repair fills and finishes a specific crack or damaged section. A re-stucco replaces the entire finish coat, and sometimes the brown coat and scratch coat, across the full exterior or a large wall section.

Can you match my existing texture?

In most cases, yes. Common San Diego textures like Santa Barbara smooth, skip trowel, dash, and cat face can be matched closely. Color match on older surfaces that have faded over time is close but not always perfect, especially when only a section is repaired.

What is EIFS and how is it different from traditional stucco?

EIFS is Exterior Insulation and Finish System, a synthetic layered system with a foam insulation board and a thin acrylic finish coat. It is not traditional Portland cement stucco. EIFS repair requires a different process and materials, and the crews we connect you with work with both.

Timing and process

How long does stucco repair take?

A crack fill or small patch takes one to two visits because stucco needs curing time between coats. A full re-stucco on a typical San Diego home is generally a one-to-three-week project depending on size and coat schedule.

Do I need a permit for stucco repair?

Routine crack fills and patch repairs typically do not require a permit. A full re-stucco that includes lath replacement or substrate repair may require one depending on the jurisdiction. The crew handles the permit assessment when the scope calls for it.

When is the best time of year for stucco work in San Diego?

Stucco cures best in mild temperatures, not in direct sun or coastal humidity. Spring and fall are ideal for most of San Diego. Inland and East County projects need to avoid peak summer heat. The crew schedules application timing around the forecast.

About the service

Are you the company doing the repair?

No. Stucco Pro SD is a referral service. We match you with insured local stucco crews and help you get a clear written quote. The crew you hire does the work.

Are the crews insured?

The crews we match carry general liability and workers comp, and we confirm coverage before work starts. You can verify any California contractor license at cslb.ca.gov.

What does the service cost me?

Getting matched and getting the in-home assessment and written quote costs you nothing. You only pay the crew you choose for the actual stucco work.
